Attention NYCHA Tenants!

We are so excited to announce that Right to Counsel for NYCHA tenants facing a termination of tenancy (administrative) proceeding at 803 Atlantic Ave, has now begun!!!  To phase it in for NYCHA tenants, the city is starting with seniors.  NYCHA tenants, age 62+ may be eligible for an attorney! And remember, all NYCHA tenants who have eviction cases in Housing Court, regardless of age, have the right to an attorney if they live in a current RTC zip code.

For more information about how this works now, please see the updated Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) on our website, or enter your information online at: www.evictionfreenyc.org.

And don't forget, if you haven't signed our petition to pass legislation that would strengthen and expand Right to Counsel, what are you waiting for?! Sign today

The implementation of Right to Counsel is constantly evolving! We will continue to update our website and resources as the implementation of the law progresses.

Sign our petition to expand Right to Counsel!

After introducing our new bill last month, we are officially launching our "Right to Counsel, Power to Organize" campaign, calling for legislation (Intro 1104 and Intro 1529) to be passed to expand NYC's current Right to Counsel (RTC) law. We want to ensure that nearly all tenants facing an eviction have RTC and know about it. Sign our petition to Mayor DeBlasio now!
